The life story of Faye Bertholf McCoy portrays Kansas rural life near Spivey, in Kingman County. Born in 1913, and graduating from High School in 1930, she tells of family and neighborhood life including pets, school, entertainment and community morals.

Her adult life includes college at Friends University in Wichita, teaching school, marriage to Harvey H. McCoy, and both city and farm life.
