INA ESTHER (ESSIE) BERTHOLF HESS 1890-1980 IXA. GLENN BYRON HESS 1912-1960 m. Freida Bammann Glenn was a chemist with Texaco Oil Company, later with Squibb Pharmaceutical Company. He and his wife Freida had two children, Susan and Lee. Glenn died in 1960 from the heart condition that had bothered him since childhood. IXA1. Susan Gale Hess m. Richard Dickerson (div) IXAla. DOROTHY MAE HESS b. 5-11-1915 m. John Edward Walker 1911-1995 Dorothy and John lived for many years at Pendleton, Oregon, where John was an attorney and Dorothy a social worker. They retired to Sequim, Washington, and had wonderful times with their family. Dorothy writes: “My life isn't the same without John, of course, but I'm doing really Oklahoma It's surprising what you can do when you have to. I seem to be as busy as I want to be. I work two full days at our hospital guild thrift shop where the profits go to our local fire department, Port Angeles hospital, scholarships for students going into some form of medical treatment or care. We've contributed half a million dollars at present to the fire department and hospital so we're right proud of our accomplishments. I belong to three bridge groups. These, along with my church activities, keep me quite involved. I always have knitting projects and other handwork, do crossword puzzles and lots of reading. We have our annual family get-together every Thanksgiving on the Oregon coast. We started this when John and I had our 50th wedding anniversary and have continued every year since. Our numbers are dwindling since grandchildren are often unable to be there, but the rest of us persevere and always have a wonderful time. They have all been really good and attentive to me so I feel blessed. Address:

and Joe are living in Edmond, Washington within easy driving distance from me. Joe is partially retired as a food broker, loves to plan
trips and does as much fishing as he can manage to work in. Linda is active in Seattle Weaver's Guild, is an expert in
card weaving and has taught workshops near and far. IXBla. Aimee Michele Malan b. 8-12-71 m. Paul Miner Aimee
and Paul are just getting settled in Vienna, Austria, where Aimee is teaching
and supervising the technical aspects of a school there.
She has loved teaching and is really looking forward to this wonderful
opportunity. They will be there for
two years, then plan to return to the Edmond school district.
Paul is a certified ski instructor with a degree in Business Management,
so should have no problem finding employment in Vienna. IXBlb. Michael Joseph Malan b. 6-6-1973 m. Betty IXB2. John “David” Walker b. 9-22-1943 m. Patty "Ross" Dierdorff b. 5-16-1944 David
and Ross are still living in Portland. David
works as a mechanic in a Volvo shop, doing the electrical repairs.
Ross has a very responsible job with Portland Water Department.
She often appears on television when there is a problem such as a flood
or water rationing. She is chairman of some committee, which requires her to

and Jon are now in Salem, Oregon, where he is minister of a Methodist church.
Laurel is a librarian at the Albany, Oregon library. IXB3a. Brace Edward Langenwalter

m. Melanie Dawn Landolt Brace
just graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in organ and is
continuing his education to get a teaching certificate.
Melanie is also going to the university and getting a degree in
accounting. They have an apartment in Eugene, Oregon. IXB3b. Anna Beth Langenwalter b. 5-19-1979 Anna
just graduated from Salem High School and is going to attend Smith College in
Massachusetts this fall.” IXC. MARY BETH HESS b. 7-20-1917 m. Joe Byron Taylor b. 12-17-1925 Mary Beth makes her home in Little Rock, Arkansas, separated from Joe, but not divorced. She is interested in art and needlework and paints in oils. She especially enjoys her three granddaughters, having raised three boys.
