VIIIA.  DORIS LUCILLE KLISH  1917-1953

              m. Kermit Thompson  b. 10-11-1916

Doris grew up in Wichita and met Kermit at East High School.  She graduated from Wichita University and Kermit graduated from Kansas State University.  They lived in Wichita for a time following their marriage, then moved to Ellinwood, Kansas, where Kermit entered the heavy equipment and road construction business.  They built a new home which included an apartment for Doris' mother, Ruth, who lived there until her death.  Doris and Kermit had two sons, Larry and Danny.  The third son was stillborn just prior to his mother's death in 1953.  Kermit and his second wife, Barbara Wilson, cross-adopted their children and raised and educated their family at Ellinwood.

Larry graduated with a BS from Kansas State University and is a division engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation.  Kay graduated from Kansas University and is a teacher.

Sandy is a homemaker.  She graduated from Sterling College with a BS in education.  Her husband is a vice president for a grocery chain.

VIIIB.  WAYNE ALBERT KLISH  b. 4-19-1925

m. Billie Levene Enterline b. 7-24-1927

Wayne and Billie have lived for many years in the Denver area.  Wayne has been the Executive Director of the Colorado Association of Child Care Institutions, developing standards for child care within the state and working with the legislature for funding of institutions.  Wayne holds an MS degree in social work.  Billie is a retired teacher and Director of Elderly Service. 1997 marks their 50th anniversary and they are planning a trip to Hawaii, along with Jan and Bruce, as it is their 25th anniversary also.

Billie and Wayne writes about Michael:  “Michael received his MS degree in Plant Pathology from Colorado State University.  Ever since college days, he has lived on the Western Slope of Colorado, except for the years they took their deaf son, John, to Massachusetts to a special school.  John now speaks quite well and is a great athlete.  Mike currently lives in Grand Junction, Colorado, and works for a private company doing his work as an environmental scientist.”

Megan graduated from high school this year and received several scholarship offers.

                                    m. Bruce David Baylor b. 4-15-1952

Janlyn is a housewife and Bible teacher.  She has a BS in Physical Science.  Bruce is a middle school teacher with an MS in education.  They live in Idaho.

                                                 b. 11-13-1978

Both Matthew and Nathaniel are enrolled in Idaho State University in Pocatello.

                        VIIIB3.  David Kent Klish  b. 9-20-1954

                      m. Marjorie Ann Hanson  b. 3-23-1955

Billie and Wayne write:  “David is our third child and lives in Denver and works at the Bureau of Reclamation as a computer draftsman.  He has worked for the same place ever since he received his AA degree in drafting from Adams County Community College in the north part of Denver.  David was the reason we moved to Denver so he could get the schooling he needed so he could talk as he was hard-of-hearing.  He has now has Usher's Syndrome, which means he has lost much of his sight and only has tunnel vision and is legally blind.  His wife is also deaf and is a secretary for a Federal Social Security Judge in Denver.  David's attitude is very good and his faith is STRONG!”

Stephanie has just graduated from Lutheran High School.

                VIIIB4.  Lynnita Ann Klish b. 3-8-1960

                      m. Mark Paul Kromm  b. 8-3-1958

Billie continues:  “Lynne also has Usher's Syndrome and is legally blind and neither she nor David can drive a car anymore.  She is married to a Doctor of Audiology who keeps her in the very latest and best hearing aids.  He is a professor at Minot State University, which is almost in Canada and they have many Canadians at their school.  They both like the north and the cold, cold weather which they have.  They have made many good friends and are very active in their church.  Lynne is very active in the State Association for the Blind in North Dakota and works part time for that association through the university where Mark teaches.

                                                 b. 10-1-1991

Daniel is the pride and joy of his parents and grandparents and is a computer whiz at age 5-1/2.”  Ě
