My grandparents, William and Fanny Page (above) and
Fanny in later years (below)
I wish I had made some notes
of all the facts of my lineage, and though my mother told me over and over
about Daddy’s relatives, I regret to say, that’s a long time ago and I
didn’t write down names and dates. They
were all from the East, and I made no notes.
My father’s side of my family was interesting, and some of
Grandmother Medairy’s connections were very affluent.
This however, wasn’t handed down to the in-laws, the Medairys.
Mother was a strong character
and had a good mind, to say nothing of being a pretty woman, until she died
in 1976 at approximately 90 years of age. My Mother’s mother was also very
strong. She came from England
along with her family, which included a younger sister, Nana.
Nana lived with us when I was born, along with Grandma Page and Aunt
Myrtle. At first, they had lived on a farm near St. Louis.
We ended up all together in a nice home on Belt Ave.

There we lived next to a
family we became good friends with. Their
daughter, Frances Casey, became my best friend all through the years until
she died in 1976.
